Turkish Delights and Moroccan Marvels: Overcoming Snowy Setbacks
A snowy day in Toronto and an even snowier day in Chicago had The Luxury Travel Agency’s first trip of the year cut short.
One LTA Advisor faced delays in Toronto due to snow and then encountered an even longer delay in Chicago due to a raging blizzard while connecting for her Turkish Airlines flight. After hours upon hours of delay, she finally arrived in Morocco to explore the luxurious Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech and spend a short time exploring the city. Despite the shortened stay, she quickly immersed herself in the vibrant culture before jetting off to Turkey. There, she stayed at the exquisite Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul and explored the historic wonders of the old city, adding another layer of adventure to her journey.
This was just the beginning, as The Luxury Travel Agency was set to visit 18 more countries in just the first six months of 2024!

January Island Jumping
The LTA’s first stops were the stunning islands of Barbados and Canouan, where we immersed ourselves in the best the islands have to offer. We then returned to Barbados to embark on a nine-day Caribbean adventure aboard Explora I, an Explora Journeys’ small cruise ship. Starting in Barbados, LTA explored the ship before setting sail to St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Barthelemy, Dominica, Martinique, Grenada, and ending back in Barbados. Experiencing seven different Caribbean islands was nothing short of phenomenal.

March Brought Us: Mexican Marvels
In March, LTA ventured to Mexico, embracing its diverse wonders. We explored the colonial charm of San Miguel de Allende then headed to the newly renovated Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya. It was beyond exceptional!. Our journey continued to the over-the-top luxury of The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai, to the simple beauty of the island of Holbox with its sand packed roads, sandy beaches and chic botique resorts (think Tulum 20 years ago). The trip ended at the even more relaxed and beautiful Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO site. Each destination offered a unique blend of culture, comfort, and luxury, making Mexico a mosaic of unforgettable experiences.

The Year Continued with a Flurry of Exploration
African Adventures: Botswana and South Africa
One of our most exciting journeys took the LTA to the heart of Africa, specifically to South Africa. We explored the vibrant city of Cape Town, visiting iconic sites like Cape Point, Table Mountain, and the lush Winelands. The stunning landscapes and rich culture at every turn made the experience truly unforgettable.
Next, we ventured to the magnificent Botswana to discover the Okavango Delta. The pristine waterways and luxurious lodges offered an unparalleled safari experience. Botswana is a must-visit, especially for elephant lovers, as it is home to one-third of Africa’s elephant population. The breathtaking beauty and wildlife encounters made this adventure extraordinary.

Tanzania and the Seychelles
Meanwhile, another LTA Advisor was exploring the majestic Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the Serengeti. They experienced the breathtaking landscapes of the Serengeti, renowned for the Great Migration. Spending several days on safari was beyond splendid, and they were thrilled to see the Big Five up close!
From there, they journeyed to the idyllic Seychelles, spending several fabulous days at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island. These two destinations, though distinct in their settings, both provided unforgettable experiences. At the first resort, they enjoyed lush tropical surroundings and panoramic ocean views. Then, on Desroches Island, they embraced the remote tranquility and pristine beaches, each location offering its own unique charm and unparalleled luxury.

Simultaneous Caribbean Escapes
While some of our team were on African adventures, other LTA Advisors were exploring the vibrant Caribbean. One Advisor experienced the serene beauty and pristine beaches of Turks and Caicos, basking in the island’s tranquility. Meanwhile, two others embarked on a luxurious Celebrity Cruises Caribbean adventure. They reveled in the ship’s top-notch amenities and enjoyed the exclusive allure of CocoCay, Bahamas, a private island paradise. Each moment was filled with relaxation, adventure, and indulgence, showcasing the diverse and captivating charm of the Caribbean

May: Miles Through North America
May saw The LTA embark on an unforgettable road trip from Nashville to Canada ending at a charming country resort in upstate New York. Along the way, with stops in Detroit, Toronto and Montreal, The LTA discovered incredible properties and savored meals at must-visit restaurants, making each stop a luxury filled adventure.
Meanwhile, another part of our team flew to the breathtaking Western USA, where they embarked on an exploration of the finest hotels and resorts in Montana and Wyoming. They delved into the region’s majestic landscapes, discovering luxurious hideaways nestled amid stunning natural beauty. Their adventure included a deep dive into Yellowstone Park, where they were surrounded by awe-inspiring geysers, lush forests, and abundant wildlife. Staying in opulent accommodations, they enjoyed unparalleled comfort while immersing themselves in the park’s splendor. This journey was truly unforgettable, blending high-end luxury with the raw beauty of the American West.
The First Half of the Year Ended with Egyptian Elegance
The LTA spent a couple of days exploring the magic of Cairo. From there, they sailed the Nile to inspect a brand-new ship set to make its premier voyage in October. Along the way, The LTA explored the tombs and temples of Luxor and Aswan, delving into the rich history and opulence of ancient Egypt. They even saw the tomb and remains of King Tutankhamun (King Tut)! This trip ended with a few more days exploring the explosion of new developments in and around New Cairo.

Looking Ahead: The Second Half of the Year
The second half of the year promises to be just as busy and exciting. We have another luxury cruise planned and will be visiting and exploring 11 more countries. The first stop is in the Caribbean (checking out Sir Richard Branson’s home, Necker Island). The travels continue throughotu the year with journeys planned to Europe, the Middle East and Africa
Plus, we will attend some of the best luxury trade shows in the US and Europe, connecting with industry leaders and discovering the latest trends and innovations.
